A Saudi tourist on Tuesday morning while travelling with three other friends was killed by an elephant while on a journey from Masindi district through the national park to Gulu. The accident happened in Nwoya district at a Uganda tourist site -Murchison Falls National Park.

UWA Communications Manager -Bashir Hangi reports that the travelers briefly took off time from their ride to ease themselves inside the park when a herd of elephants charged at them. The deceased that has been identified as Sayeed Elshahany had moved a little further into the park failing to run faster back to safety.

The UWA sends its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and advises its tourists to keep arms way from harm as they improve their safety measures to prevent this from happening again.
