The police in Jinja have launched a manhunt for the driver of speeding taxi that hit and run two street workers.
On the early morning of 21 February, a street sweeper identified as Edisa Wamala, 70 was killed by a speeding taxi at Nalufenya Road.
Edisa, a resident of walukuba was working with a colleague -Esther Nabirye at the time of the accident.
The two staff of Jinja city council at about 6:30am in the morning were knocked killing Edisa instantly.
Esther was badly injured thus rushed to Jinja Referral Hospital.
