DR. Congo as early as June 2019 expressed their interest to join the East African Community addressed to the then chair -Paul Kagame.

On Tuesday , the new chair of the EAC – Uhuru Kenyatta announced the EAC newest member to the rest of the heads of State.

Congo will benefit from the integration especially in the expansion of the territory of trade and reduced tariffs for goods received at the ports of Mombasa and Dar es salaam.

The lawmakers in Congo still have to ratify the EAC laws and regulations before they come into play – Congolese nationals still need a visa to visit  the other East African Countries since full integration will take some more months.
