Over 38,000 voters in Omoro county MP by-election are expected to cast their votes yet the turn up is still low at various polling stations in Omoro. Over 38,000 voters in Omoro county MP by-election are expected to cast their votes yet the turn up is still low at various polling stations in Omoro.

The by-election in Omoro county for MP is followed after the death of the former Omoro county member of parliament, Jacob Lo’kori Oulanyah who also was the speaker of parliament.

Different candidates showed interest in the seat like; Ojok Oulanyah(NRM), Odong Justin Obiya( FDC), Kizza Oscar(ANT), Tolit Simon Aketcha(NUP), Eng. Odonga Terrence(IND), and Onen Jimmy Walter(IND).

The NRM flag bearer who is also the son of the late Jacob Oulangah, Ojok Oulanyah with company from family, cast his vote this morning at 10am in Ajuri primary School.

Like all the other major elections Uganda has had, Omoro by-elections has registered arrests of MPs, agents and supervisors among others.

DP lead of campaigns, also Achua West MP – Okin Ojara, arrested; NUP supervisors and polling agents including : Hon. David Kalwanga, among others also arrested.

FDC also claims that their Omoro district offices were raided on Wednesday night ahead of the by-election.
