It’s alleged that a commuter taxi Reg. No. UAW 987Y, was traveling from the direction of speak road facing clement road with unidentified numbers of passengers on board on a high speed, and while approaching a sharp corner it failed to break and failed to negotiate the corner.
It eventually fell down inside the UBC subway roundabout killing two occupants on spot and many unidentified sustained serious injuries.
The police rushed the injured victims to Mulago hospital and bodies of the deceased conveyed to City mortuary for postmortem.
Mulago’s causality ward was overwhelmed as many other causalities were seen to be on the floor. Relatives of the causalities stormed Mulago on hearing the saddening news about their loved ones.
Security officers at the ward requested all the people who had come to see their relatives to wait outside the ward to give the doctors room to attend to the victims.
