The Speaker of parliament Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga said that she received concern from the Salon and Spa operators.

In their petition to the speaker on Tuesday, led by their Chairperson Abdu Karim Mucunguzi, they said that they wrote to the Ministry of Health in regard to their plight but have not got feedback. He said with over 1.5 million saloons and spas in the country, their continued closure has affected youths who are the majority of the employees.

“I do understand the difficult situation the saloons and spas find themselves in. Although we have this pandemic, we shall find ways of facilitating our people to work but also to keep safe. I shall take up this concern to the attention of government”. speaker Kadaga said in a statement
