A prominent investigative Pakistani journalist has been confirmed dead in Kenya, after being shot by Nairobi police. Arshad Sharif is reported to have been in hiding

The Government of Kenya is under so much pressure from outside the nation and even within due to the sensitivity of this highly political sad incident involving Kenyan police.

A prominent investigative Pakistani journalist has been confirmed dead in Kenya, after being shot by Nairobi police. Arshad Sharif is reported to have been in hiding after allegedly receiving death threats back home.

He was known to be a government critique prompting his secret departure from Pakistan for the last two months.

Arshad Sharif  is a writer and television news anchor that specialized in investigative journalism covering political events. The fallen brave journalist is known to have previously worked for ARY news in Pakistan which was critical on government hence its closure for a period.

Arshad was also shortly fired from the TV station for supposedly going against the company policy leading to the closure of his program, “POWERPLAY”.

The journalist was killed in Kenya on Sunday in a said cross fire as he traveled in his car with another Pakistani. Many comments suggest dying was the price Arshad had to pay for the truth.

“I lost a friend , husband, and a favorite journalist today, as per police he was shot in Kenya” said – Javeria Siddique, wife to the deceased on twitter. Arshad has left wife and five children.

On Tuesday, the Pakistani journalist is repatriated to Islamabad and family reports that the funeral will be Thursday.

In Kenya, with pressure all around the globe – investigations are still ongoing.
