Two police officers have been confirmed dead, 14 injured and in critical condition after a pickup vehicle they were traveling in overturned at Paicho Trading Center, along Gulu-Kitgum highway.
The Agago District Chairman, Mr. Leonard Ojok confirmed the incident reporting that one police man died on spot while the other died on the way while being rushed to hospital. “Some of the casualties are at Gulu Referral hospital in critical conditions,” he added.
One of the police officers of Field Force unit attached to Gulu Central police, a survivor of the accident said of the vehicle driver; “He was driving very fast when he eventually hit a hump. I broke my left leg and bruised my face, arms and back when I jumped off the vehicle to avoid being crushed under the falling vehicle.”
The team of police men were traveling for a mission in Agago district.
