A Ugandan soldier has been reported to shoot three of his colleagues for reasons still un identified by the military. The military is therefore carrying out an investigation following this shooting by a colleague deployed in Mogadishu under the  Somalia peace mission.

The incident has been reported by the military to have happened in the Mogadishu airport base which is under the protection of the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (Atmis).

“It is true that one of our UPDF soldiers shot and killed his colleagues in Somalia, where they are deployed on a security mission. UPDF has put in place a board of inquiry to investigate the cause of the fatal incident.” Felix Kulayigye – army spokesperson reported.

The identities of the deceased soldiers are not yet identified, the suspect is however under police custody – the army spokes person informed the public.
