The body of a missing male was found decomposing in Kyambogo a month after his reported disappearance. His body was discovered by a watchman near Kyambogo primary school and was taken to the city mortuary Mulago for postmortem.
The deceased was identified by Mr. Onyango Patrick -the Kampala metropolitan spokesperson as Roy Alituha 28 years old, the son of Mr. Timothy Magezi a custodian at Kyambogo university.
“His decomposing body was discovered at 7pm on Sunday in a nearby bush. A team of police officers visited the scene, examined and documented the scene and inquiries are ongoing,” Mr Onyango said.
Roy Alituha is said to have disappeared from home on 9th February, 2023. His father tried looking for him where-after failing reported the case to the Kyambogo police station as missing persons on 17th February. Police search also proved futile.
Preliminary investigations show that on the day of his disappearance, Alituha sent an SMS to his sister’s phone that his life was in danger and needed family prayers.
“A small rope was found tied around the neck of the deceased a sign that he probably committed suicide. Alituha’s father identified the body by the shirt he was putting on. No arrests have been made but investigations are ongoing,” Mr Onyango said.
