A militia group spotted to have been involved in countless ethnic killings in Democratic Republic of Congo have attacked a camp in Northeastern Ituri province overnight Sunday to Monday.
The community leader, Desire Malodra counts the death toll to be 46, with 23 being children. “They begun the fire shots, many people were burned to death in their homes, others were killed by machete”, Malodra added.
Ituri province is one of the Eastern Congo’s dangerous spots affected by the war marked by violence, it is known to have attacks claiming dozens of lives in the community.
Malodra says that the death toll number is still provisional as the search is still on going.
