A Nairobi bus with 48 passengers has burst into flames along Narok-Mai Mahiu road. Preliminary findings show that the incident occurred after one of the wheels developed a mechanical failure causing a puncture.

The ENA coach bus driver after the puncture tried to pull over but the vehicle instead burst into flames. Passengers therein tried to put out the fire but only saw little success as the fire had engulfed the entire bus.

“At approximately 2 am this morning, while en route from Nairobi to Migori with 48 passengers on board our bus experienced a front tire burst while ascending the hill after Suswa,” Mogire Richard – Executive officer ENA Coach said.

Occupants of the bus reported loosing some of their valuables, fortunately no life was lost. ENA brought an emergency bus that carried the passengers to their destination- Migori.

Kenya has been having a series of such accidents were vehicles burst into flames including: a family of five who had a like incident because of a slippery road, a truck driver who died into flames among others.
