Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has caused social media especially on X(formerly Twitter) to erupt with questions as many Ugandans condemned his identity politics, foul language and sectarianism address in Luwero district during public rally at the same.

“They (ruling class) came here with torn shirts and torn shoes and could not afford a second underwear,” said Kyagulanyi in reference to the NRA war fighters as many onlookers cheered him on.

Many Ugandans and other users of X (former Twitter) said that Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi was sowing seeds of anarchy, one even warned of a genocide if he is left to continue.

DUT. D.BIAR on X said, “I fully support revolutionists but honestly speaking this is hate speech.”

Hon. Kyagulanyi said to the people in Luwero that a small group of the ruling class had grabbed miles of land from Buganda. He told the Baganda to not look idly as their lands are being grabbed.

“But they (ruling class) own everything. They have taken square miles of the lands of our grandfathers. They are wasting money on birthday celebrations. Museveni is trying to impose on us his foolish son. Museveni thinks he will build his monarchy on the bones of our grandfathers. That can never ever happen again,” he added.

While some defended Bobi Wine’s tribalistic address suggesting it was free speech, more people condemned it;

Minister of State for Primary Healthcare, Margaret Muhanga condemned the speech saying, ” He has shot himself in the foot. No aspiring leader speaks like that.”

Geoffrey Mukisa; “Surprisingly, the future leaders of Africa are of poorer standards than the previous. When you listen to Malema speaking you sense same vibe. These people should be left to do their things. The population will eventually know whether it is them we need to change this continent” said on X.

While making remarks at the address, Bobi Wine also said that Museveni and his son Muhoozi were planning to kill him.

“Those who tried to speak the truth were intimidated or had their property taken. Hussein Kyanjo was killed. Jakana Nadduli would be here with us but he was abducted, tortured and killed, Sheikh Muzaata, Archbishop Cyprian Lwanga and Kasirye Gwanga were killed.  Many were killed in the run up, during and after the 2021 elections. That’s how Museveni has paid back the Baganda. Others are rotting in jail. We are many and we will defeat you (Museveni)” he said.

He shared no evidence to prove the assumptions. Muzaata was reported by family as having succumbed to Covid-19, the report by the catholic church from postmortem showed that  Bishop Cyprian died of a heart attack, while Kasirye Gwanga died at Nakasero hospital due to an operation meant to treat a blood clot he had in his head as by postmortem report.
