During the inaugural Rhino Naming Ceremony at Ziwa Rhino & Wildlife Ranch in Nakasongola, the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) named one of the 17 baby rhinos “Ubuntu” as part of the #NameAndSaveARhino campaign.

Meet “Ubuntu” , one of the 17 baby rhinos that have been named today. It has been named by The Ugandan Tourism Board. The name Ubuntu carries a profound African philosophy: “I am because we are.” which reflects the spirit of togetherness, compassion, and shared responsibility. Ubuntu, will always remind us that, just like humans, wildlife too depends on collective care and unity for survival.

“For Uganda to achieve its growth goals and sustain tourism, we must first protect our product. Conservation is not optional, it is the foundation on which our tourism and economic future depends.” – Juliana Kaggwa, CEO, Uganda Tourism Board.
