Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has today unveiled former Ghana international Laryea Kingston as the new head coach of Uganda\u2019s youth national football teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The appointment was confirmed at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba, by Chief Executive Officer Edgar Watson. Kingston will take charge of the Boys\u2019 Under-15, Under-17 and Under-20 sides as part of FUFA\u2019s long-term strategy to strengthen the youth football structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, FUFA clarified that Brian Ssenyondo will continue to lead the Under-17 team at the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar, marking his final assignment with the side before Kingston assumes full responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kingston, a holder of the UEFA A and CAF B coaching licenses, previously worked with Ghana\u2019s Under-17 team and brings a wealth of experience having played at the top level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During his playing career, Kingston featured for the Black Stars between 2002 and 2010, notably being part of the squad that defeated Uganda Cranes in Accra in September 2005.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also had club stints with Hearts in Scotland, where he played alongside former Cranes winger David Obua, as well as Terek Grozny in Russia, Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel, and Dutch side Vitesse.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
