Nkumba University has celebrated its 27th Graduation Ceremony in grand style under the inspiring theme \u201cUnlocking Potential: The Journey from Learning to Leading.\u201d<\/strong> Among the distinguished graduates were Gen. (Rtd) Emmanuel Rwashande<\/strong>, musician Catherine Kusasira<\/strong>, and several others who joined the ranks of accomplished alumni making an impact across various fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa<\/strong>, who graced the event as Guest of Honour, commended Nkumba University for its vital role in advancing higher education and contributing to national development. He described the institution as \u201ca key partner in shaping Uganda\u2019s future through innovation, research, and community-centered learning.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tayebwa lauded Chancellor Emmanuel Katongole<\/strong> and Vice Chancellor Prof. Jude Lubega<\/strong> for their visionary leadership and dedication to nurturing graduates who are \u201cnot only academically excellent but also socially responsible.\u201d<\/em> He congratulated the Class of 2025, noting that their success symbolizes \u201ca triumph of effort, sacrifice, and determination.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reaffirming government\u2019s commitment to strengthening higher education, Tayebwa highlighted ongoing initiatives such as the expansion of student loan schemes<\/strong>, promotion of science and technology<\/strong>, and national skilling programs<\/strong> designed to align education with market needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs government expands public institutions, we equally recognize the role of private universities like Nkumba in filling the education gap, nurturing innovation, and bringing learning closer to communities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Deputy Speaker further assured Parliament\u2019s continued support toward creating an enabling environment for private universities. He pointed to recent parliamentary discussions on enhancing the Higher Education Students\u2019 Financing Board<\/strong> and introducing tax and investment incentives<\/strong> to boost private sector investment in research and infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is the way forward,\u201d Tayebwa emphasized. \u201cThe only way to help young learners embrace the digital age is by introducing them to technology early enough.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

In his message to the graduands, Tayebwa urged them to live out the graduation theme as a lifelong mission \u2014 to move from learning to leading with purpose, innovation, and integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYour generation must be agile, creative, and proactive,\u201d he challenged. \u201cUganda needs leaders who can create jobs, innovate solutions, and serve humanity with excellence.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The event was a celebration of resilience, innovation, and transformation \u2014 hallmarks of Nkumba University\u2019s enduring legacy in shaping leaders of tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
