The launch was announced at a media briefing held at UTB\u2019s head offices in Kampala, Lugogo House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Addressing the press, UTB Chief Executive Officer Ms Juliana Kagwa described the Rwenzori Mountains\u2014famously known as the <em>\u201cMountains of the Moon\u201d<\/em>\u2014as one of Uganda\u2019s most unique treasures, offering snow-capped peaks, diverse wildlife, and a rich cultural heritage. Kasese-based tourism operator Kiiza Alex welcomed the plan, noting that it addresses long-standing challenges such as poor infrastructure, limited promotion, and weak coordination among stakeholders. \u201c<em><strong>This is a timely intervention. We are ready to play our part in ensuring tourism growth benefits our communities,<\/strong><\/em>\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On behalf of the Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI), Country Lead Martijn Harlaar highlighted the organization\u2019s role in supporting capacity development, product diversification, and expanding market access.
