In a country of over 38 million people, the exact numbers of Christians can hardly be traced because it is illegal being a Christian.

In Afghanistan, which is largely Muslim, for Muslim communities to keep their honor, the new believers are disowned by family, clan or tribe.

Christians from a Muslim background can also be put in a psychiatric hospital, because leaving Islam is considered a sign of insanity/madness.

Now with the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, the Christian community is becoming increasingly difficult to track since the church goes underground.

An estimation of 10,000 to 12,000 Christians stand threatened by the Taliban iron rule hand.

Since the downfall of the Taliban rule in 2001, the Christian community has not only grown but exponentially shared their faith which even makes secrecy for safety harder under their new government.

The Christian community faces public executions, floggings and amputations for their faith.

Even as governments from Christian and humanitarian states seek to rescue this set of Afghans , it will be a hard rescue plan because of the fear the Christians live in thus far secret hidings made homes.
