A high voltage power line has fallen on protesters in Eastern Congo and killed four, officials say. The protesters are anti-UN mission in Congo, a peace keeping mission that has been in the country for over 10 years.
Protesters demand the departure of the peace keeping mission as the civilians accuse the mission for failing to protect them from armed gangs that have eaten up the region over the years.
The decision for the peace keeping mission spokes person to leave the country also was announced in a statement from the foreign affairs ministry dated July 28 as statements made by him were deemed dividing between the Congo people and the mission.
Protesters have however continued to set fire and vandalize the missions’ buildings across cities in the country.
