Rose Christiane Ossouka Raponda is the newly appointed first ever Gabonese female vice president after the position had been vacant for along time since 2019. The president- Ali Bongo Odimba appointed her on 9th January, 2023.

The 59 year old politician has served in other capacities as Prime minister, mayor and minister of defense. She will still be remembered as also the first female prime minister in Gabon assuming office in July 2020.
