A 7 months old baby in Mubende was among those that were discharged by the minister of Health, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng on 27th October, this happens amidst the confirmed at least 30 fatalities since the Ebola outbreak in Uganda.
Baby Mathias Mbabazi is reported to have recovered together with his parents; Aziz Zizinga(father) and Ainembabazi Rachel (mother).
These are residents of Kalamba village, Kiganda town council in Kasanda district. Dr. Paska Apio, a consultant in charge of Ebola case management team in Mubende confirmed the recoveries to the minister of health.
“They have now tested negative and are fit for discharge amongst the 31 recoveries we have had since October 6.” Dr. Paska Apio.
Since September 20th;
90 confirmed cases, managed at 42 bed facility. 55% of the admitted are male and the 45% are female.
Clinical trials could start within weeks on drugs to combat the strain caused by lack of a vaccine for the Sudan Ebola virus which currently has swept Uganda.
