More than 20 people have been reported dead by police in a bus crash near Kenya-Uganda boarder leaving 49 injured. Police spokesperson for Uganda regional police- Rogers Taitika reported that the preliminary findings point cause of accident to over speeding.
The accident happened after the bus driver lost control crushing in a Kenyan town-Lwakhakah. Many that were killed are Kenyan nationals and 8 Ugandans.
The Uganda government in response to the accident surge in the region is drawing new road guidelines to help curb the increased risk road uses face of especially losing their lives.
Police has registered 104 road accidents in 3 days between December 30th and January 1st. 35 people lost their lives whereas many more were injured.
