Uganda Certificate of Education examinations kick off today, 16th Oct, 2023 with 364,470 registered candidates; 118, 735 government funded, 245,734 privately sponsored in 3,863 centers distributed all over the country.

This examinations will mark the start of the assessment calendar. Mr. Odongo Daniel confirmed that 777 candidates were those with special needs, 59 were inmates in Luzira prison.

The Executive Director UNEB, Mr. Odongo Daniel said that the UNEB board had arrangements for special needs learners to receive the necessary support according to their needs- “UNEB will provide- Braille answer sheets for the blind, large print questions for those with low vision and sign language interpreters for the deaf.”
