On Thursday evening, 155 MPs voted to remove Mityana municipality MP -Francis Zaake from parliament commission. Four MPs voted against his removal while two votes were invalid.

Francis Zaake a member of the opposition(NUP) was accused and found to be guilty of abusive tweets targeting deputy speaker Anita Among as an individual and as presiding officer by a parliamentary committee that has been investigating the matter for 2 weeks.

The motion for the removal of Mr. Zaake was moved by opposition MP for Bardege Layibi Division – Hon. Ojara Mapenduzi.

After the successful motion to censure Hon. Zaake, Deputy speaker Among said that the censured Zaake is required to apologize to the house within one week. She also went ahead to ask opposition for a new name.
