Simon Omony, The Karenga acting Deputy Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) was shot and killed on Friday night at about 10pm , moments after hanging out with friends at his home.

The assailants are still unknown as police goes on hunt. Investigations on the motive of the attack are on going.

Karenga District Principal assistant secretary was shot at his home in Napikori village, Karenga town council.

The deceased is said to have worked with the district for over 10 years. He is one of the civil servants that were transferred to Karenga from Kaabong District when it was divided into two districts in 2019.

“We heard gunshots at around 10pm. Moments later, we received information that Omony had been shot. When we rushed to the scene, we found he had already succumbed to the gunshots wounds,” the district LCV chairperson, Mr Felix Loechaale.
