As Makerere University kicks off its 72nd graduation this 23rd of May, 2022 ; 12, 474 students are expected to graduate.

From the recent statistics, female graduates are increasing especially at the 72nd graduation where even more 1st class degrees are seen to be scooped by the females.

Out of 12,474 graduating students; 6,538 are females and 5,936 male, indicating 1% drop in Male and 1% increase graduates in females.

The drop in first class degrees is however significant as 283 students graduate with first class degrees contrary to the 312 last year.

Decline in first class degrees in the institution has been largely attributed to the Covid 19 pandemic which disturbed the education sector significantly.
