During a half day training for journalists held at Uganda Media Women’s association offices on Friday, journalists were encouraged to prioritize stories on PWDs ahead of GDS(Global Disability Summit).
David Nanyonzi -National Union of Disabled Persons(NUDIPU), Oscar Waluko Wako-Executive Director East Africa Center for Disability(CDLP), together with Margaret Ssentamu -the Executive Director of Uganda Women’s Association (UMWA) made the call during the training.
The 1st global disability summit held in London was in 2018 under the thematic areas; education, employment, stigma and harnessing technology.
The second global disability summit scheduled for February 15 to 17 in Norway under thematic areas; inclusive education, unemployment, climate change, capacity strengthening.
