About 70 Makerere University staff face dismissal over absenteeism after officials from the Appointments Board conducted a head count on January 6th.

The head count conducted was for both teaching and non-teaching staff which the staff that were absent will be required to explain to the satisfaction of the University management.

It has been noted that staff found not on duty during the head count will face serious disciplinary action as absenteeism and late coming have been voiced to affect service delivery at the university.
