On Tuesday, MTN Uganda honored Kate Kiiza, Executive Director at dfcu Bank, for her exceptional efforts in promoting women’s economic inclusion and empowerment.
During the visit to dfcu Bank, Justina Icabala, MTN Uganda’s Business Segment Manager, praised Kiiza as a trailblazing leader who has created opportunities for women’s advancement across the country.
dfcu Bank has been at the forefront of championing women’s economic participation through:

The bank’s flagship Women in Business (WiB) program has provided female entrepreneurs with access to affordable credit, business advisory services, and financial literacy training.
The partnership between dfcu Bank and MTN Uganda on the Advancing Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) initiative has yielded remarkable results, including:
– Growth of women-owned supplier contracts with MTN Uganda from 3% to 14%
– Contracts worth over UGX 20 billion awarded to female-led businesses
This initiative has enabled women entrepreneurs to access new markets, increase their business capacity, and build sustainable enterprises.
