One student has been reported dead in Kyamate school fire in Ntungamo municipality while three others were left injured. This happened as the students were trying to pick their property from a fire gutted dormitory.

“The occupants were mainly S.1 students who had been asked to give space for the rest of students to utilize the available solar power source in the school as we had no power since Friday,” Mr Arinaitwe said.

The fire is said to have started at about 9:30pm at Nyerere and Mandela dormitories, allegedly set by arsonists. The deceased student has been identified as Bonus Ankwatireire from Isingiro district.

Several properties were destroyed including; bedding, books beds among others.
Investigations on the arsonists are on going.
