Ms. Jenifer Bamuturaki, The Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the Uganda Airlines disclosed during the 18th AKWAABA Africa Travel and Tourism Market held in Lagos that Uganda would make its first flight to Nigeria before the year ends, in December.
The Uganda airlines boss was among the 100 top African Women nominated for the Travel and Tourism Award from East and south Africa. Bamuturaki was nominated in July, 2022 with other 99 women where she came to the fore.
“I am happy to tell you that we, the Uganda Airlines will begin our flights to Nigeria, first time in history, from December 2022. This will be our first flight to West Africa, we will begin that as we continue to grow slowly. When we come to Nigeria, we will be working through the recognized travel agents and tour operators,” she said.
Ms. Bamuturaki has worked with the Aviation industry for over 15 years and from her experience recommended that running a successful airline required good managers overseeing different spaces of the airline that needed monitoring.
During the award ceremony in Nigeria, she dedicated her award to; Africa, the youth who are passionate about the industry but most importantly to the women of Uganda who never give up, keep pushing forward and striving against all odds.

According to her, flights to Lagos will begin before the end of December while flights to Abuja will begin in 2023.
