Former Ethics and integrity minister, Rev Father Simon Lokodo breathed his last on Saturday morning while in Geneva, Switzerland on official duty.
The 64yer old former MP is said to have first collapsed on Thursday and was rushed to the intensive care unit. The news of his death was made through a tweet from the Uganda Human Rights Commission.
The former Dodoth MP also served as a member of the Uganda Human Rights Commission at the time of his death.
Father Simon Lokodo will be remembered for his effort to trying to stop the nyege nyege festival that he was convinced promoted immorality, starting the nine-person pornography control committee – in the reason to regulate consumption of pornographic material in Uganda, banning mini-skirts among other strategies to fight immorality in Uganda.
On receiving the news, president Museveni was pained by the news as he shares his condolences on twitter. The president praised father Lokodo for his aggression in enforcing culture as well as his firmness against immorality.
The travel and burial arrangements are still being discussed.
