On one very thought-filled evening, I somehow stumbled into the subject “father” , in the library of my mind really. My thoughts grew very deep I quickly went to my calendar and noticed 21st June is ‘father’s day’ and I marked it, yes I did! and of course the plan was to go visit my father on that day.

First forward, I woke up on a Sunday morning, the 16th June and oops, many peers had Father’s day messages running all through social media I felt betrayed. My shy face was on the whole time! Look, my plans were for 21st and now they had to change in a flip? No….

No! not the slightest thought if the word “father” was ever strange in your tongue. If ever, you will notice you need to prepare for every step along the new turn of life.

As a young girl, I never had the chance to put the word ‘father” through my mouth ever and that was okay until my mother first told me about him. I literally had rehearsal, hahaha, I mean, my system needed to get the new update at 18years!

I read a statement today on the internet that said, “A father is a daughter’s first love, her forever hero”, but if “father” be strange to the tongue then how does one zero to the same being a hero. Possible yet not so easy.

Father said at its basic translation means, ‘source’ and how tempting it is for one that’s gathered knowledge without truth to think, “I have no source” because either they lost theirs or never met or any other unique circumstances…

Today I don’t struggle to say father but it came a lot easier when I met the initiator of fatherhood – The source from which all creation gets its sustenance yet only mankind can cry out, “Abba Father” through the price that Christ paid. I have a first love and  a hero no doubt.

Rejoice its a new day

Rejoice it’s a new day

Oh, just so I don’t lose you, 21st June is still marked “father’s day” on my calendar and I am still holding that visit.

Happiest Father’s day! whether its 16th June or 21st June; don’t let any strangeness find comfort in your tongue knowing there is a perfect source to fatherhood and your father’s frailties only expose his humanity-totally justified!
