Uganda as part of the EAC block is going to deploy 1000 troops to Eastern Congo to fight the M23 rebels that have infested the region causing instability and displacement of many over the years.
The East African region including; Kenya, Uganda, Burundi and South Sudan are set to send troops to the Congo Eastern region to halt the violence that has caused many fatalities by the M23 rebels.
Tensions in the region have grown due to the fighting as Congo accuses Rwanda of supporting the M23 rebels , something the UN and U.S have said too over the months.
The actual day of deployment for Ugandan troops in Congo hasn’t been disclosed, the Kenyan troops arrived in Congo on 12th November however.
