Total CHAN Finals 2020: KCCA Quartet Make McKinstry Final Cranes Squad

Uganda Cranes Head coach Johnathan McKinstry has named Four KCCA FC players in his final squad for the Total African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2020 Finals to be held in Cameroon from 16th January to 7th February 2021.

The KCCA FC players named include, goal keeper Charles Lukwago, defender Dennis Iguma, midfielder Bright Anukani and forward Brian Ahebwa.

The four players have not been part of the Pre-CHAN mini tournament that started earlier in Cameroon with CAF confederation cup engagement and were knocked out by AS Kigali on Wednesday in Kampala.

Uganda is in Group C alongside defending champions Morocco, neighbours Rwanda and new comers Togo.

McKinstry also confirmed to Fufa.co.ug that, Vipers SC defender Lwaliwa Halid will Captain the team.

The Cranes currently in Yaounde, will play Niger on Thursday 7th January 2021 in the final game of the Pre-CHAN Mini Tournament before travelling to Douala on Friday 8th January 2021, where they will hold another training camp for one week ahead of the group stage matches.

URA FC forward Mukwala has surprisingly been dropped having scored in the warm up match against Zambia.

Wakiso Giants’ Hassan Senyonjo, URA FC right back Ashraf Mandela and BUL Forward Joseph Semujju are other players dropped.
