Here are some of the things that one needs to know about Morocco;

Morocco is a country is North Africa in what is referred to as the Maghreb region. The region includes; Algeria, Libya, Tunisia, Mauritania and Morocco itself.

Also known as the Kingdom of Morocco, the country spans an area of 446,300km2 and a population of roughly 37 million people, predominantly Islam – ruled by the Alawi Dynasty , a Moroccan royal family.

Morocco has faced external threats to its sovereignty in the 15th and 16th century where Portugal and Spain divided the empire into separate protectorates.

In 1956, Morocco gained its independence in 1956 and since then has been peaceful having the fifth largest economy in Africa and is considered a middle power in global affairs.

Morocco won the 1976 African Cup of Nations, Two African Nations’ championships, and FIFA Arab Cup once. It has also participated six times FIFA World Cup.

As of October, 2022, Morocco is ranked as the 22nd best National team in the world.
