The UPDF has tracked down and killed the terrorists that killed two foreigners and a Ugandan driver on 17th Oct, 2023 at Queen Elizabeth National Park. The point of attack was near Uganda-DR.Congo border.
The terrorists were linked to the rebel group(ADF) with operational base in Democratic Republic of Congo. Army spokesperson Lt.Col. Deo Akiiki on Wednesday said they had finally got a number of ADF and killed them on lake Edward of Kayanja landing site in Kasese district.
“Intelligence led operation saw a number of them perish under combined fore of UPDF marine, special forces, 222, 301 Brigade infantry squads in a well coordinated night operation. It should be noted that this was part of the group that killed the tourists. The operation is still on to finish all the splinter groups of ADF”, Lt.Col. Deo Akiiki.
