The world of football is no stranger to Ugandan talent, and Ugandan players continue to shine on the global stage.

Here’s a roundup of some of the notable performances from Ugandan players abroad.

Malta

In the Maltese league, Sylvia Kabene was on fire, scoring a hat-trick for Hibernians Poala U21 in their thrashing win over Swieqi United FC on Monday. Kabene, who was introduced in the 45th minute, showcased her impressive skills, helping her team to a convincing victory.

Kabene also featured for Hibernians Poala Women FC, scoring a brace in their 4-1 win over Birikirkara FC in the Malta Women’s top-tier league on Friday.

Russia

Fauzia Najjembe played 88 minutes for Dinamo Moscow women in their 1-0 loss to CSKA Moscow. Despite the loss, Najjembe’s performance was notable, earning her a yellow card in the 77th minute.

Dinamo Moscow currently sits sixth on the board with 33 points from 22 rounds.

Mexico

Sandra Nabweteme scored the winning goal for Santos Laguna in their 2-1 win over Mazatlan in the Mexican Women’s League.

USA

Coach Ibrahim Ssekagya’s side, New York Red Bulls, lost 3-1 to Columbus Crew in the MLS.

Edward Kizza came off the bench to help Indy Eleven secure a 2-1 win over Loudoun in the USA championship.

Bobosi Byaruhanga also came off the bench for Oakland Roots in their 3-3 draw against New Mexico.

Ali Tomusange has been appointed as a member of the CAF Referees Committee’s CECAFA Zone, where he will focus on mentoring and guiding referees to improve their skills.

In Rwanda, goalkeeper Nicholas Ssebwato captained Mukuru Victory in their 1-0 loss to APR FC. Ronald Ssekiganda scored the winning goal for APR FC and was voted man of the match.

Both Hakim Kiwanuka and Denis Omedi featured for APR Football Club.
